In the shadow of Mahendragiri lies a tiny two-and-half-acre
site developed for housing under the Amrita Kuteeram
project. A devotee donated 2.5 acres of land in Panagudi.

The Windmills changed the life of Panagudi people. It is a
revolution. The wind power is a non conventional energy. 1
acre at panagudi costs 1 crore now. Panagudiland cost is as
high the industrial town tuticorin.

Eruvadi Mount |
 |

The Western ghats of panagudi is a treat for the eyes to
see. We are hilltop people!. in hindi we are "Pahari"
people. We dont live in mountains, we live near to it. or
around it. or inside it. so we can be called valley people.
all over the world the mindset of valley people is one of
dominating, powerful and outgoing type. They are born
kalakars!. Compare us with Silicon valley people of the USA
or the Kerala pahari people. |

These mountains are the major reason why panagudi, thovalai,
kavarkinaru, vadakkan kulam, aral vai mozhi villages get lot
of wind. These mountains act as a "CUP" of barrier for the
south-west winds, which come from the Indian ocean or the
Mukkoodal, or the meeting point of the three seas, the
Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.
As you witness it, my machan Panchan says, one can feel the
blow of cool wind with high force as you enter the Panagudi
village from South Vallioor. Yes I remember the Kattabomman
Transport Corporation, Nesamony raodways experiance, wehen i
reach the panagudi, i feeel the wind awaking me from slumber
through the windows of the bus.

This is Vallioor Railway station
The Chennai going Trains stop at PAnagudi Railwaystation
also. But as some work is going on [Nov 2005] there, so I
could not video the Panagudi Raliway station. Next time i
can give that here.
|

Vallioor is my Paternal Grandmother Isakki Ammal and
Umayammal's Village. A fully developed Town, many Keralites
visit Vallioor to purchase all Plastic utensils to Silver
BRass Bronze wares, as it is cheaper than Kerala here. |

I will give Vallioor Busstand also soon here.
The Vallioor Bus stand "Arisi Murukku" is very famous.

This is OUR Family Charity Centre, the AVM Kalayana Madapam,

the AVM effect.
This is the AVM of Panagudi!. |

Sending our Uma Akka to Chennai by |

This is my Anna's Ambassador car, which is operated as a
Panagudi Taxi also. InPangusi lots of Taxi's are available
for immediate transport, it is cheaper and faster and quiet
comfortable also. Autos are less. So you can see the buying
power of Villagers are more now a days. |

The white ambassadors are usually known as the symbol of
political power in india. in panagudi and around villages
the political power remains with Radhapuram MLA Appavu, who
is a phone hungry man. My mahan panchan says, he helps
people, but if come to your home and rings the phone, he
will speaks a lot on STD your phone bill is Appavu MLA's
bill, but the job will be done. |

Panagudi Temple Car
or Ther
The Theru is covered now. During Festival periods, it is
opened and with out cover. It is repaired and oiled that
times. That time we used to sit on this Ther and see FREE
open air movies aired in this Temple Ground. We also used to
witness the "Katcheris" or Music - Song programs at
this open air theatre. Witnessing the Prabhakar Music
Orchestra is very memorable one. |

Panagudi Temple

The Semman and White Pattai [the White and Saffron stripes
on the walls] are a Unique Tamil Temple painting culture.
During festivals all over Tamilnadu villages even houses
pain this stripes. Is there like this anywhere else in the
world? please tell me? I want to compare it? |
